Bulletin 10 May 6th β May 20th 2026
Dear Residents
π Thinking about CCTV or Wi-Fi cameras for home security?
Wi-Fi-enabled devices like video doorbells and home cameras are increasingly popular for crime prevention and evidence gathering. They do help - but they shouldnβt be your only line of defence.
β οΈ Be aware: some Wi-Fi cameras can be jammed during offences, stopping footage from recording or uploading.
Thatβs why we recommend a layered security approach, combining: βͺοΈ Strong physical security (locks, lighting, fencing) βͺοΈ Alarms βͺοΈ Non-cloud-based CCTV systems
β Products accredited by Secured by Design (SBD) meet tested police-backed standards. You can explore accredited options via the SBD website β https//:securedbydesign.com.
